Argos Inspiration Days: A New Powerful Platform in Belgium for The International Print Community
The first edition of Argos Inspiration Days in Belgium was held last month, from 6 – 8 March 2018, in the centre of Brussels in the Belgian National Automobile Museum (Autoworld). This free exhibition, organized around the slogan “Create. Produce. Deliver.“, was able to attract some 600 high-profile industry professionals, including communication agencies, advertisers, graphics designers, printing and production specialists as well as manufacturers and suppliers of digital presses from over 22 different countries. At Argos Inspiration Days, more than 30 exhibitors from 10 countries showcased state of the art technologies, equipment, tools and services for various digital printing and finishing applications. Have joined to present their printing technology many leading international companies, such as Canon, Renz, Xeikon, Flint Group, Peleman Industries, Lab9, Plockmatic, Tecnau, Multigraf, Axode, Hunkeler and Argos Solutions. The exhibition was complemented by a three-day conference and supporting program with more than 32 expert talks designed to give additional insights into the latest innovations in specialty technologies, pre-print, digital print and print finishing.

Argos Inspiration Days was not simply ‘another print exhibition’, but, rather a powerful platform for the international print community to get together, share experiences and give each other new inspiration. We do not want to compete with each other, as our Belgian motto well puts it, ‘Union Gives Strength’. And I think that following this logic we can add a big value to the market”, declared Tony Michiels, co-founder of the event and director of Argos Solutions.

More than 15 unique talks
No fewer than 32 talks were given over the three days of the trade show. Hosted by Inkish TV, in collaboration with the VIGC (the Flemish Innovation Centre for Graphic Communication), the talks covered various topics such innovation, the creation and finishing of documents, some of the new digital printing tools, visual communication, direct marketing, Web-to-print, etc. In short, it was a chance to take stock of the graphics market today and see what it will be like tomorrow.
Some of the Highlights
Argos Solutions had several new systems on display during this 2018 inaugural edition. The F400 LED a UV flatcoating system with LED technology, the new F400 version modular flatcoater, the HD LED a high definition ultra-high-gloss coating (photobook finish) and Argos’ very latest MK3 spotcoater. Peleman Industries announced the launch of its VPAPER. Canon demonstrated integrated beauty brand campaign to inspire diversification possibilities. Multigraf brought its Touchline. Renz also brought a demonstration of the Inline 500 Connection. Roland DG introduced the Versa UV LEF-300 LED UV Inkjet Flatbed Printer. Plockmatic showcased the new RDC-3852.
About the Argos Inspiration Days
A biennial B2B event, Argos Inspiration Days aims to become the first edition of a long series to come. This three-day event was organized by Tony Michiels, the founder of Argos Solutions, a company specialized in UV-LED and Cold UV coating based in Enghien, and its purpose was to bring people together around the theme of digital printing and the entire ecosystem of graphic communication.
